Laser Hair Reduction - FAQs
How much will laser hair reduction cost?
A complimentary consultation is required prior to all Laser Hair Reduction Treatments to determine the suitability and cost. The cost varies depending on how many sessions you will require. You will need a series of treatments to achieve desired results. Treatment sessions are a minimum of 6 weeks apart.
Does laser hair reduction provide effective results?
The laser works by targeting colour in the hair shaft and follicle – best results are seen with darker hair. In most cases blonde, red and grey hairs cannot be removed. Each treatment effects only the hair that is in growth – the Anagen stage. You should start to see results after your second or third treatment – it's important to note that complete hair reduction is not possible. In some cases, it is possible to reduce up to 98% of hair growth, the average person can expect at least up to an 80% removal. However, this is dependent on age, hair type, hormone levels, existing medical conditions and other factors. Some underlying medical conditions and medications may exclude you from the treatment, as they make the results harder to predict, or may make your skin photosensitive and therefore we may not be able to treat you for one to two weeks after completion of the medication.
What type of laser machine do we use?
We use a Picosecond Laser Machine (3 Wavelength. A picosecond laser selectively destroys the target pigment without damaging healthy, normal tissue. This allows rapid clearing of the pigmentation with minimal damage to surrounding tissue.
